Limone sul Garda: an Innovative Ecological Choice with Water in Cartons for Responsible Tourism

The Municipality of Limone sul Garda, in collaboration with the Limone Tourism Consortium, Planet Bevande srl, and Aqualy Ly Company, has joined the significant water-in-cartons project. The primary goal of this initiative is to reduce the environmental impact of single-use plastic packaging in mass-consumption products and promote responsible tourism.

The Tetra Pak carton is made from 83% plant-based and renewable raw materials, responsibly sourced (FSC® and Bonsucro certified), and is recognized as more sustainable than other solutions on the market. The paper is certified according to FSC parameters, meaning the trees come from ethically and responsibly managed forests. For every tree cut down, another is planted, ensuring continuity.

This important initiative not only reduces the negative effects of plastic on nature but also offers a high-quality product. Aqualy water is produced in the Marradi (Fi) plant in the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, which has received significant international quality recognition, in addition to being certified safe for consumption due to the absence of contamination and microplastics.

These 500 ml, fully recyclable, fun cartons will be available for purchase in public establishments and participating hotels. The cartons feature custom graphics with images of the Limone Gulf, the Old Port, the famous cycle path, and the beautiful beaches, offering an original way to collect travel memories and promote the area's tourism brand.

The QR code on the packaging, once scanned by guests, directs them to the Visitlimonesulgarda.com website, where tourists can access information about events, local attractions, and book hotels and outdoor experiences.

Ly Company Italia, the producing company, promotes the Ly Company Foundation, which is dedicated to educational projects and the recovery of the world's most disadvantaged areas. 0.3% of the proceeds from product sales go to the Foundation for charitable purposes.
